We had 15 tables for this regular Friday morning shuffle-deal-and-play duplicate.
This is two tables short of enough for two sections, so we played in one large
section with twelve 2-board rounds. Top on each board is 11.
One small problem on Board 11 was brought to my attention at the club, and was
corrected with minimal changes to any rankings. My rechecking of all scores
found one more problem:
Board 9 NS 3 v EW 1 +140 not +110 very faint hand writing
This change gained 1/2 MP for NS 3, just enough to break a 1st/2nd tie in their
favor!
Congratulations to Marlene Keliher and Marina Polestra for the best score in the
room, above 68%, and 8 MP ahead of Len Aberbach and Howard Siegel who had been
leading with one round to go. The N-S winners were Bruce Greenspan and Stuart
Whittle by 1/2 MP over Patricia Hanna and Dottie Nelson.
With only one section, I award Free Plays to only two pairs, the section tops.
I will be going on vacation beginning next Wednesday and not returning until
Labor Day. In my absence, Saul Agranoff has graciously agreed to direct three
Friday morning games.
I got the connector fixed on my computer and am again able to post Preliminary
Recaps, and did so today.
