We had 16 tables for this regular Friday morning duplicate. This could be structured
as two 8-table sections with a relay and bye-stand in each, but I chose the simpler
alternative of one large 16-table section playing 12 rounds of two boards each. Top
on each board is 11.
I corrected one error that Gloria Kolikof found at the club:
Board 3 NS 11 v EW 4 -710 not -680 wrong score for 4H making 7
This moved Gloria and Phil Nyman up a couple positions in the middle of the pack, ahead
of Phil's wife, and enabled them to scratch by finishing 6th E-W.
My complete rechecking found no other errors so the results as posted at the club are correct.
Congratulations to Christina Parker and Stewart Rubenstein for the best score in the room,
above 67%, winning N-S by two full boards ahead of Bill Hunter and Eric Schwartz. Anton
Tsypkin and Sheila Gabay were second overall, winning E-W at 63%, about half a board
ahead of Bill Collins and Len Selsky.
With only one section, I award Free Plays only to the two section tops.
There will be a game at the usual time and place next Monday on Columbus Day.
The Tuesday night game on October 14th is moved to Westwood.
Next Friday, October 17th, will be a SWISS teams. This will likely be structured as a
single section with three Flights. Only if six or more A/X teams sign up in advance will
we have a separate section for Flight A/X. Please help me get the game off to a smooth
start by pre-registering your team, either by e-mail or using the form on the website.
If you need help fining teammates, let me know and I should be able to team you up with
aother compatible pair.
